The hotel boasts 65 luxurious bedrooms,individually designed with a modern twist on tradition and decorated with bespoke furniture provided by local craftsmen, and with magnificent views of the surroundings.


With 5 dining areas, there is truly an option for every mood. Cloisters Restaurant and Bar serves breakfast, followed by an all-day menu with a grill and seafood theme, underneath a glass roof allowing for a view of the Great Hall’s stained-glass windows. Emerald Restaurant is Matfen Hall’s fine dining offering, open each evening, and for Sunday Lunch too, allowing you to indulge whilst overlooking the vast Northumberland parkland. The Orangery is a dedicated tea lounge, serving a beautiful Afternoon Tea prepared daily by our award-winning pastry chef, alongside a selection of loose-leaf Newby teas. Needham is open daily for drinks and sandwiches, whilst Keepers is the golf clubhouse,golfers and guests alike can enjoy a gastro-pub style meal.

27 holes of championship-level golf are available to play, with a course as beautiful as the stunning scenery surrounding it. And, because golf has been at the very heart of Matfen Hall for almost 30 years, there is also a Par-3 short course, a golf academy, a driving range and a purpose-built clubhouse to make sure our Hotel guests, visitors and members have the complete golfing experience.
